Position Title: Senior Teller

Position Summary:
Provides friendly, accurate, and efficient customer service. Processes a variety of routine financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits and loan payments. Maintains appropriate level of cash on hand. Prepares daily paperwork according to branch procedures. Responsible for managing and balancing cash drawer. Assists with the efficient running of the teller line by answering questions and assisting with supervisory duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all customers and co-workers.
  • Set an example for others by promoting a positive image of the bank through a neat appearance and professional manner.
  • Approve teller transactions above teller limits but within his/her limits.
  • Operate a teller drawer to serve customers and/or bank personnel.
  • Accept commercial and consumer deposits, verify cash and endorsements, and process transactions in the computer.
  • Identify customers vs. non-customers and follow the check cashing policies.
  • Provide additional customer services including cashier’s checks, money orders, traveler’s cheques, savings bonds, license stickers, stamps, etc.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and follow teller difference policy.
  • Assist with compliance of all department, bank, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating workflow.
  • Assist with training new employees and answering co-workers questions.
  • Recognize potential cross-sell opportunities and direct customers to appropriate bank personnel.
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and bank objectives and goals.
  • Regularly open/close the bank.
  • Travel between branches is required; some travel between banks may be necessary.
  • Assist with supervisory duties when needed.
  • Balance the vault.
  • Balance the ATM.
  • Assist with balancing items at cut-off time.
  • Assist with scanning and balancing counter work throughout the day.
  • Assist in auditing of teller drawers, negotiable instruments, and consignment items.
  • Accept cash turnovers and issue currency to tellers from the vault.
  • Represent bank at community events.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Mastery of Teller duties and responsibilities.

Training/ Education/ Experience Qualifications: (Include licenses and certifications)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 Years Teller Experience Required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift 20 lbs.

Position Summary:

Assists the bank in meeting the goals established for the branch. Provides positive, consistent experiences for customers.

  • Leads and motivates teller staff to refer various bank products.
  • Follows Monetary Loss and Force Balancing Policies as established by the bank.
  • Regularly open/close the bank.

  • Assist with supervisory duties when needed.
  • Interface with Personal Banking Department
  • Cross-sells all bank products, to include mortgage and commercial lending referrals, merchant services and any other referral sources.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and is able to uncover customer’s needs.
  • Maintains strong customer relations through courteous and responsive service.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the bank’s internal computer systems, to include bank applications, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all federal, state, local and bank regulatory compliance requirements, and completes all required compliance training according to the established schedule.
  • Adheres to St Charles Bank & Trust’s security and operational procedures as outlined in the bank’s directives and procedures.
  • Follows any and all procedures and policies established by the bank.
  • Qualify for, register and maintain mortgage lending originator (MLO) status with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing and Registry (NMLS) according to the SAFE Act, and requirements of the position. Perform MLO activities in accordance with SAFE Act.
  • Represent bank at community events.

Position Summary:

The Branch Manager is accountable for delivering superior financial results and best in class customer service by creating a proactive sales and service environment, and maximizing employee productivity and effectiveness. This person is responsible for establishing and enhancing the bank's presence in the local market and developing strong community partnerships. The Branch Manager is also accountable to work cross-functionally with other internal lines of business to maximize growth and profitability. The role is also accountable for risk and compliance management and the optimal operation of the branch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team's activities on expanding and retaining both new and existing relationships by understanding client's financial goals; matching client's goals with bank products and services; cross-selling services; partnering with other bank associates by quality introductions, referrals, alliances, networking, and outbound calling efforts in order to achieve a 2.50% cross-sell ratio.
  • Conduct coaching sessions with all branch team members by utilizing tracking sales reports to review sales activities and individual performance in an effort to achieve goals.

  • Oversee operations, including scheduling, proper staffing and handling employee issues.
  • Participate and manage team's participation in community events to adhere to the Bank's CRA goals, and submit required information to track overall Bank compliance.
  • Enhance bank reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies and government regulations by maintaining files; following internal audit, loan review, branch operations, and collection procedures.
  • Adhere to operational controls including legal, corporate and regulatory procedures to ensure safety and security of customer and bank assets.
  • Complete annual on-line training courses as outlined by Compliance Officer.
  • Qualify for, register and maintain mortgage lending originator (MLO) status with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing system and Registry (NMLS) according to the SAFE Act.  Perform MLO activities in accordance with SAFE Act.
  • Assist in training new personal bankers.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • 3-5 years in a customer contact/sales position or equivalent preferred.
  • Teller experience preferred.
  • Personal Banking experience preferred.
  • Branch Manager experience preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Successful record of sales and service excellence with demonstrated sales, sales management, coaching and problem solving.
  • Experience in Small Business development preferred.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential documents and situations.
  • Requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and produce high quality accurate work the first time.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

Training/Education/Experience Qualifications: (Include licenses and certifications)

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • College or other courses related to retail banking preferred.
  • Familiar with bank compliance and operations.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees.
  • Training, planning, assigning and directing work to ensure the branch’s success.
  • Supervising day-to-day activities, such as customer service, branch operations and attaining goals.
  • Addressing complaints, resolving employee grievances.
  • Holding employees accountable to their Performance and making recommendations for the consideration of merit raises and/or bonuses based on their performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with bank policies and government regulations.
  • Monitoring the schedule and documenting absences.
  • Controlling the branch's marketing budget.
  • Conducting staff meetings to keep staff informed and motivated.
